Programs



A partnership initiative to develop two community-designed Parent Access Points for information on early childhood care and education.

Focuses on child welfare prevention strategies in the Bronx neighborhood of Highbridge.

Supports day care programs, head start centers and community-based organizations with computers, specialized software and technical assistance.
A public-private partnership to build the relationship between ACS contracted services and the communities they serve.

A collaborative effort to establish and provide technical assistance to peer support groups for informal child care providers.

A Membership Network operating in the South Bronx which helps families increase their involvement in their children’s education.

A partnership to enhance support to daycare and headstart families.

Training materials ACT used to train 1200 Parent Coordinators in their new positions beginning September 2003.

 

Projects Currently in Development

The Family Engagement Institute (FEI) is currently being developed in collaboration with the Parent Services Project (PSP). FEI will build on existing initiatives in targeted ACT neighborhoods to increase parent and caregiver capacity to influence educational, social, and economic outcomes for their children and themselves.

Partnership with Children’s Mental Health Alliance (CMHA):

As part of CMHA's comprehensive school-based mental health initiative, ACT is supporting the partnership with the Washington Heights community.

ACT is working with seven city agencies to design and implement homeless prevention strategies for Bedford Stuyvesant.

ACT offers technical assistance and strategic planning services to Healthy Families NYC Home Visiting Program.
